Lagos Showcase Brings Cross-Cultural Design Dialogue to Life
Returning to Lagos under the theme “Harmony,” the second leg of the showcase celebrated cross-cultural collaboration in fashion. Hosted in partnership with the Swedish Embassy in Lagos and Business Sweden, the event explored how international cooperation can accelerate sustainable fashion development in Africa.

Designers featured included Lisa Folawiyo (BOF 500 Nigeria), Emmy Kasbit (Nigeria), MaxJenny (Sweden), and Selam Fessahaye (Sweden)—each presenting work that beautifully demonstrated what happens when African fashion, European craftsmanship, and sustainable design principles intersect.
Six Years of Woven Threads: Driving Sustainable Fashion in Africa
For six consecutive years, Woven Threads has continued to spotlight the innovation, resilience, and creativity of African designers. It also reinforces the broader mission of Lagos Fashion Week—to be a transformational force in the African fashion ecosystem, creating pathways for market access, capacity building, and circular economy practices.

As Lagos Fashion Week celebrates its 15th anniversary, platforms like Woven Threads are more essential than ever. They nurture emerging sustainable fashion talent, foster intercontinental dialogue, and invest in fashion infrastructure that supports conscious African designers, paving the way for a more inclusive, responsible, and future-forward industry.
